第79期的ppaper用「用定格影像認真地開玩笑」來形容這位Alan Burles，其實形容的頗為貼切，但我覺得他更是一位充滿幽默感的「冷面笑將」。
大部分的攝影師，都是將他們想要表達的感受、想法或主題明確的表現在攝影作品上，讓觀賞的人能夠清楚的感受到作者的訴求，但是Alan Burles這位老兄不然，他的作品乍看起來就只是一張張的靜物照，非得要你停留一下目光、轉一轉腦袋，才會發現藏那些被他藏在在照片裡的「笑點」。

Hi, Alan. I read an article in the ppaper magazine that introduced your creations. I really like your photos, and i think that you are humorous. It is what i say in my short essay, "If you can stop scan and gaze it short-term, you will find the delights in his photos." And then borrowed two photos from your website to share with others, and add a link to your website.
